Episode 4 / Seeing Truth through a Christian Lens

🔍 Is Truth Relative?

“That might be true for you, but it’s not true for me.”

This is one of the most common phrases among today’s youth. We live in a culture that values personal opinion over absolute truth—where feelings often take priority over facts.

But the Christian worldview stands in contrast. It boldly declares that truth exists, that it is absolute, and that it flows from the unchanging nature of God.

📖 What the Bible Says about Truth

The Bible does not treat truth as a concept to debate but as a person to know.

Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6).

In Christianity, truth is not merely propositional—it is relational and personal. It is grounded in the very character of God, who is faithful, just, and unchanging.

John Frame writes, “Truth is God’s perspective on reality.” This means that to know truth is to align ourselves with how God sees the world.

💥 A Culture That Rejects Truth

Postmodernism has reshaped the way our generation views truth.  Absolute standards are dismissed, and all beliefs are treated as equally valid.

In this environment, claiming that the Bible is the one true standard can seem arrogant—or even dangerous.

Yet Francis Schaeffer insisted, “Christianity is not merely about conveying truth—it claims to be the truth.” The Christian worldview does not adapt truth to the culture; it challenges culture with truth.

🧭 Truth as a Compass for Life

Truth is not just about theology; it is the compass by which we navigate daily life. It shapes our decisions, relationships, morality, and sense of justice.

Nancy Pearcey notes, “Biblical truth provides a unified framework for interpreting all of reality—not just religious topics.”

Truth calls us to live in a certain way. It demands consistency, integrity, and sometimes sacrifice. As Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32)—but freedom comes with obedience.
